my husband makes fun of the way i eat biscuits. I scoop out the insides, making room for more butter and jam. for me, all that fluff is in the way of what i want to fill my biscuit.
as believers in Jesus, we are commanded to “be filled with the Spirit and to “walk in the Spirit.” that means the fluff has to go. so that the Spirit within us can fill up, rise up, and overflow “into all the world.”
it’s a process. a daily seeking after God and asking the hard questions. what is in my heart? do i love You the most? what part of me doesn’t look like You? what is in the way? what needs to go? empty me of me. so there’s room for You.
i cannot do it for myself. but Jesus can. the scripture says so. “Christ in you, the hope of glory.”
so i pray: give me wisdom. teach me understanding. reveal, heal, renew, and transform me.
from the inside out.
Im kind of the same. I eat out the inside then i have room to put butter and syrup. Sometimes i’ll put jelly but not that often.
